Dynaudio PRO’s newest 9S and 18S subwoofers are designed to make an awesome job of both stereo and surround monitoring applications, handling ultra-low frequencies with perfect efficiency. The 9S features a single woofer, while the 18S has two in a push-push opposing dual design with a woofer on each side.
Brilliant new custom 24cm woofers
Both subs feature brand new, custom long-throw 9.45in (24cm) woofers, developed specifically for each model. These new subwoofers also come with double front baffles, adjustable low-pass filters from 50Hz to 150Hz, and SAT outputs with a defeatable high-åpass filter. All of which means you get a signal-sensing auto-power circuit that saves energy when not in use, ideal for larger rooms. It’s also easy to daisy chain more 9S or 18S subs, with the first unit controlling the overall volume for every connected sub.

While the 9S is just as compact as the highly acclaimed BM 9S II model, its performance is comparable to Dynaudio PRO’s larger BM 14S II sub.
Whether you add it to a LYD-5, 7 or 8 stereo or surround set-up, or use it with the classic BM series of studio monitors, the 9S delivers a full, focused and revealing performance. Which means it’s perfect for achieving accurate mixes that translate brilliantly to every format and any playback system.
Being powered by a high-end 300-watt Class D amplifier, the 9S also features a new long-throw MSP driver. This provides an excellent low-end extension and SPL performance that significantly out-does the BM 9S II it replaces, while still preserving all the magical detail and extraordinary precision that Dynaudio is famous for.

The 18S is powered by a 500-watt amplifier and features a powerful DSP engine and built-in presets for Dynaudio PRO studio monitors. It also has a time-alignment functionality and a three-band EQ to defeat specific room modes, ideal for larger surround monitoring systems. But when you couple it with LYD-48 you get a powerful four-way monitoring system equally capable of delivering amazing levels of high SPL and low-volume precision.
Dynaudio has also designed a brand-new driver for the 18S. The new MSP+ Hybrid Drive unit has been developed specifically with deep bass in mind. It provides the best low frequency performance possible, right down to 16Hz in this case, using innovative dual-action dampening. The paper at the back of the aluminium driver plus Dynaudio’s MSP dampening cap on the front means any ringing from the aluminium is dealt with.
