For the chief I/O RME have engineered an entirely new XLR socket, capable of amalgamating flawlessly into the housing to save space. The two headphone outputs, delivering TRS and mini-jack sockets in tandem, have entirely distinct driver stages to perfectly match low and high impedance headphones, guaranteeing pristine sonic results regardless of the headphones in use.

Two digitally manipulated preamps offer individually switchable 48V phantom power. These brand new circuits provide gain of up to 70 dB, adjustable in steps of 3 dB, plus a relay-driven PAD, causing exceptional EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance as well as line overload protection and enough gain for even the lowest level microphones.

Babyface Pro's extremely resourceful design almost never necessitates an external power supply – it's perfectly stable on USB 3 bus power, and most USB 2 ports, with no depreciation in any technical faculty. This means the Babyface is perfect for mobile recording, even with a pair of your favourite condenser microphones.

The FPGA-based DSP mixer adds a versatile, 3-band parametric equaliser to all inputs and outputs. Reverb and delay FX are also onboard. The Latest low latency AD/DA converters, paired with RME's individual SteadyClock technology, result in incomparable specifications that will satiate the most discerning of professionals.
