RAISING THE ELECTRET PRINCIPLE TO A NEW LEVEL
The KK 14 captures the signature sound of acoustic instruments with unmatched precision and neutrality. It overcomes former limitations of the electret principle to deliver a wider bass and mid-range, and a confident elegance in the treble. Whether quiet nuances or the peak dynamics of a strong fortissimo: With a maximum SPL of 153, the KK 14 is open to all details.

THE 8 PARTS OF PERFECTION
To get there, Neumann engineers rethought the production process for electret-based microphones. Where classic solutions rely on highly integrated designs, Neumann chose a layered structure where every module of the KK 14 is built and designed to deliver the perfect result. The components are then assembled by hand in Germany. This eliminates typical compromises and opens the spectrum for formerly unmatched acoustic qualities. While the titanium housing is one ingredient to a road-tough design, it is also an expression of the inner elegance in design and engineering.

TONAL CONSISTANCY AND ROAD-TOUGH DESIGN
The layered design also delivers a yet unheard level of tonal consistency ‒ every capsule sounds exactly the same. It saves engineers the time needed for basic EQing and delivers consistent sound right from the early soundcheck.

As a part of the Neumann Miniature Clip Mic MCM System, the new series comes with an unparalleled low cost of ownership. The system is designed for years instead of just a season. Its modular design also allows for easy replacements. Nine mounting clips allow for reliable positioning on any instrument while staying gentle to every surface. The system connects to all the important wireless systems and includes cable options for a 3.5 mm jack, Lemo, 4-pin mini-XLR, MicroDot, or wired connection.

The Miniature Clip Mic System MCM is designed for close miking all acoustic instruments without many of the “natural” compromises the industry has experienced, including that in sound, ease of use, and mounting options, Orchestras, theaters, and rentals can soon rely on the full signature sound of every acoustical instrument.

The Neumann KK 14 cardioid capsule redefines the standard for a rich, natural sound in close miking as well as the signal fidelity and precision that electret Systems can deliver. Due to a completely new production process, the KK 14 overcomes former limitations like inconsistencies in sensitivity and tonality. It can take any SPL; users will not have to work against microphone tolerances any longer. Built from titanium, this capsule will last not just for a season, but for decades, lowering the cost of ownership tremendously. You get next-level sound and a great variety of self-adjusting, pro-level mounting options.

An integral part of the Miniature Clip Mic System MCM is an exhaustive palette of microphone mounting clips that allow for simple and reliable microphone positioning on any instrument. They are gentle to even the most sensitive surfaces and make mounting quick and easy. Users can mount the Miniature Clip Mic System MCM in a matter of seconds, with only one hand for most instruments.

In order to interface natively with all relevant wireless transmitters, there are four interchangeable cables with either a
3,5 mm jack, Lemo, 4-pin mini-XLR, or MicroDot connector, eliminating the need for adapters. The microphone also works on a wired connection using the high-end output stage.

The Miniature Clip Mic System MCM redefines the sound for close miking acoustic instruments, reduces efforts for sound check and mounting, and lowers the overall cost and investment. All parts of this modular System are available individually; every part is easily replaceable. It might look small, but it will expand the possibilities that your key accounts can promise. And, of course, it connects to all major wireless solutions on the live market.

Miniature Clip Mic System MCM:

  • Elevates electret technology to Neumann standards: Defines an audible new reference in sound for miniature close miking
  • 153 dB Max SPL – one capsule for both loud and very soft instruments
  • Interfaces with most transmitter bodypacks (3,5 mm jack / MicroDot / Lemo / 4-pin mini XLR)
  • Manual assembly in Germany to achieve superior tonal consistency of microphones
  • No twisted cables thanks to the gooseneck connector that allows for rotation
  • Comprehensive line-up of instrument-specific mounting solutions for reliable mic placement that are gentle to the instrument and easy to use
  • Neumann aesthetics and handling
