Small HD have used NAB 2018 to announce the expansion of the very popular Focus On-Camera monitor range. The original Focus monitor was a 5-inch daylight viewable touchscreen monitor with HDMI input and was available with various battery bundles due to the inclusion of a 7.2v power output that enabled users to power their DSLR or Mirrorless camera directly from the monitor’s L-Series battery.
Amongst the new models in the Focus range is an SDI version of the original. This model includes all the features that worked so well in the original but swaps out the Micro HDMI input for a full sized SDI port.
Next we have the Focus OLED. As the name suggest this model features an OLED display at 350 NITs brightness and improves the resolution from the original from 1280×720 to 1920×1080. The Focus OLED display is also slightly larger at 5.5″ and available in both HDMI and SDI models. The Focus OLED is a professional grade Camera-Top monitor with a wide colour gamut.
Along with the standalone Focus OLED models, Small HD have also released various battery and accessory kits – these include Sony, Panasonic and Canon battery kits as well as accessory kits for use with Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera, Gimbal Kits & CINE kits.
Completing the Focus range and continuing the partnership between Small HD and Teradek is the Focus Bolt TX and RX. The Focus TX has the same specs as the original Focus (5″, 1280×720, 800 NITs, Micro HDMI input) but has the added feature of a built-in 500 ft wirless video transmitter from Teradek. The Focus Bolt TX is compatible with the Small HD 703 Bolt as well as Teradek’s Bolt 500, Bolt 500 LT, Bolt 500 XT and Sidekick II and of course the new Focus Bolt RX.
The Focus Bolt RX is a handheld lightweight touchscreen monitor with built-in 500ft wireless receiver and handles and is the ideal partner for the Focus Bolt TX as well as Teradek Bolt 500, 1000 and 3000 transmitters.
