Dangerous Music 2-Bus+

The brand new Dangerous Music 2-BUS+ reinvents the 2-BUS, a ground breaking stand-alone analogue summing mixer first built back in 1999. Now they’re redefining mixing yet again with a system overhaul that surpasses previous specifications - the 2-BUS+ supplies unparalleled imaging, dimensionality, punch and headroom. While the 2-BUS+ active summing sounds exceptional on its own, it now includes three innovative custom colour circuits that provide a wide array of flexibly routed tonal options.

These three completely original all-analogue circuits are Harmonics, Paralimit and X-Former. Because these circuits are physically built into the 2-BUS+, they provide a versatile selection of analogue colours without ever departing from the lush, open analogue mixing environment.

Harmonics add the joyful sound of an analogue circuit on the brink of distortion to an entire mix or individual channel pairs. Prudently tapered to create the optimal combination of odd- and even-order harmonics, this effect runs alongside the unprocessed signal so you can dial in just the right amount of tone. The top end burns gently, the bass has a soothing growl and the whole sonic image warms up in ways that only a real analogue circuit can.

Paralimit is an FET Limiter set to stun. An original Chris Muth design inspired by the celebrated 1176 Limiting Amplifier “all buttons in” trick, it delivers an endless ratio setting inundated with analogue top-end. With its blend knob and assignment buttons, Paralimit gives you immediate parallel compression, in stereo, in the analogue domain, on the full mix or on a stereo stem – an adaptable set-up that otherwise requires multifaceted patching, careful level matching and significant amounts of analogue outboard gear.

X-former are a pair of customised Cinemag. Bring them in for the concrete, punchy sound that makes older analogue consoles so treasured, then turn up the X-Former knob to drive the core of the transformer in a way that’s totally unique to the 2-BUS+. X-former is all about dialling in just the right amount of classic analogue console colour whenever it’s needed.
