The Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema Camera is the next generation of compact action cameras, think of it as a go-pro on steroids that is able to capture RAW and ProRes footage and be remotely controlled! This makes the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera the perfect choice for mounting places other professional cameras cannot reach, without compromising on quality!
Featuring a super-16mm sensor, The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cameras Micro Four Thirds lens mount allows you to select from a wide range of incredibly sharp, interchangeable lenses. The core body and lens mount are made out of a sturdy magnesium alloy so you get a metal core that’s incredibly light weight. The full sized HDMI output makes it easy to connect to an HD display for monitoring, while the expansion port opens the camera up to the widest variety of power, monitoring and remote control options. The Super 16 sensor is full 1080 HD resolution and has an incredible 13 stops of dynamic range and global shutter up to 30 frames per second. Most DSLR and action cameras use a rolling shutter that exposes different parts of the image in fractions of a second, causing video to appear skewed or wobbly when the camera moves or vibrates. The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera’s global shutter acts more like a still camera, exposing the entire image at the same time so you get distortion and ripple free video. With an ISO up to 1600, the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera also gives you great quality, even in locations with low lighting.
The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera can be mounted for aerial photography, and be remotely controlled and still give you the cinematic images that blackmagic are famous for!
The built in recorder lets you capture stunning quality images up to 12bit with the RAW recording function. If you need smaller file sizes and longer recording times, you can use ProRes to get broadcast quality images. Both formats can be easily edited and colour corrected with the included DaVinci Resolve Lite for Mac and Windows. Files can be saved in either Cinema DNG RAW or ProRes. Cinema DNG RAW files are 12-bit log and give you all of the data from the camera’s sensor, so you have the latitude to change things like white balance and exposure long after the camera stops rolling.
The Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema Camera is so fresh, you'll have to watch this space for reviews!
