Novation is a powerhouse of creativity-boosting designs and innovation. Established in the UK in 1992 by Ian Jannaway and Mark Thompson, Novation Electronic Music Systems Limited was later acquired in 2004 by Focusrite, allowing them to push into previously uncharted territory, namely the EDM production industry.
Novation offers a wide range of MIDI controllers, digital DJ hardware and hardware synthesizers, all geared toward the dance music producer. The Novation Launch range, which includes the Launchkey MIDI keyboard and the Launchpad, a control surface designed for Ableton, has been incredibly popular and really put Novation on the map as a manufacturer of high quality, innovative production gear. The Novation Impulse range has also been very successful, combining a MIDI keyboard with fully assignable faders, dials and drum pads.
The Novation hardware synth range is legendary. The original Novation Bass Station has be redesigned and unleashed in the form of the Bass Station II, an analogue synth packed with functionality and low end beauty, while the Novation MiniNova offers a huge range of massive sounds from a tiny box and includes a built in mic for vocoder and vocal tune functions.
